I want to mention a little about the top of Azhdahak mountain and what reward it promises to you if you’re patient enough to get to it.
Inside the crater you’ll see a very picturesque scene: a beautiful lake with a mirror-like surface. The lake was formed by the melting snow.
It’s actually very interesting to see that one side of the land around it is covered with snow like in winter, and the other side is grassy just like in summer. You have to go down a little to be able to touch the water, but very few people go down as the climb is very steep.
- If you just can’t resist to swim in it or want to wash your face or hands, make sure you apply suncream. If not, you’ll get a horrible sunburn. The sun is very strong in that spot and will burn you even stronger if you’re wet.
- You should also think about your clothing. If you plan to go hiking to Mt. Azhdahak in winter, you’ll need boots and warm clothes. Also, don’t forget gloves, scarves and a hat. But if it’s summer, then pack only a sweatshirt and a hat. Apply a thick coat of suncream, otherwise you’ll have arms with stripes of cruel sunburn, and I can guarantee that it will hurt like hell when you go to bed that day.
- Make sure your hiking boots don’t get wet, because even in summer you’ll have to cross huge snow fields. They have to be comfortable too, so you can climb over many pieces of stone easily.
- Take lots of water with you, especially if it’s summer. It might be very hot, but don’t use all of it on your way up, because you’ll need it on the way back as well.
- When walking towards the mountain, be careful not to step on any of the bird nests. As there are no trees nearby, you might find the nests built right into the ground. If you find one, you’ll see the little furry nestlings opening their mouths waiting for food. But don’t get too excited and make sure the mother of those cuties isn’t somewhere near you, as some birds may have protective instincts.
- And, of course, you just can’t afford to forget your camera at home when you are heading to one of the most gorgeous trip destinations in the whole world.
A girl named Diana who hiked to Mt. Azhdahak a couple of weeks ago wrote about it on her blog, so check it out to learn more.
