The Canadian police has arrested a man whose traveling bag was filled with armature. Officers from the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority noticed a man with a suspicious bag and called the police. The traveler, Ziad Mohamad Jeha, 30, was charged with possession of weapon and was arrested.
Calgary Herald reports that when police officers arrived, they seized an unloaded, small-calibre handgun and several rounds of ammunition from the bag.
Ziad Mohamad Jeha, 30, of Calgary, has been charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, possession of a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon without a permit and possession of a restricted weapon with readily accessible ammunition. Jeha is known to Calgary police.
According to GADLING, Jeha was arrested without incident and charged with four counts of weapons related charges.
Details on the incident are still a little sketchy; there is no word on what the man’s motivations or plans were. I’m just glad that the guy operating the x-ray machine was on top of his monitor and saw the weapon go through security. We’ll let you know what happens.
