There Are Many Advantages To Using A Travel Agent
With the abundance of do-it-yourself websites out there purporting to offer the best travel deals, it’s hard sometimes to decide whether or not to use a travel agent or go it alone. When faced with this decision, think not only of the cost of the trip, but also of the time it’s going to take you to do all of the research and make the reservations for air, hotel, and car rental. What is your time worth?
Sometimes the best travel deals offered on the “cheap” websites aren’t really all that great. For example, when looking for a Seattle, WA hotel recently, there was an incredible-looking deal for under $100/night in the downtown Seattle area. After further inspection, though, it turns out that the hotel room didn’t come with a private bathroom or showers, so it wasn’t one of the best travel deals after all. That’s when a travel agent comes in handy, to get the nitty-gritty details about offers like this and steer you in the right direction.
Another advantage of using a travel agent is when it comes to booking cruises. A travel agent can often get you on a waiting list for an upgraded room or special perks that you can’t get on your own or through a do-it-yourself discount travel website. Plus, if anything goes wrong during your trip, you can call a travel agent to help you get resolution to your needs or find you alternative arrangements as they have some bargaining power that you don’t.
