Traveling is all about getting away from your daily routine, meeting new people, trying new things and having new, unforgettable experiences.
One of the most unforgettable experiences is standing near a volcano and realizing that it can shoot out an enormous quantity of lava at any moment. Yet you’re calmly taking pictures of it and making comments about its breathtaking view.
They can be easily noticed as volcano mountains have a smooth cone. They get this shape from the lava that forms the mountain.
If you are a great volcano-fan or just are interested in them, here are two mountains you should definitely visit.
The first one is the spectacular Fuji volcano in Japan. It is the highest mountain in Japan (12,388 ft). It first erupted in 781. The last eruption was in 1707 and lasted 16 days.
The mountain is owned by the Fujisan Hongu Sengentaisha. The land where Mt. Fuji is situated, was given to this Shizuoka-based Shinto shrine in 1609. The Japanese used to worship this mountain for many centuries.
Fuji is one of the classic mountains that has a white snowy top and is surrounded by magnificent nature. It has a triangular shape and looks especially beautiful in spring when all the trees are blooming and in the fall when the leaves turn bloody red. This is one of the popular trip destinations in Japan–more than 200,000 tourists climb this mountain every year.
Second place goes to Bromo Volcano, Indonesia. This mountain is situated right in the middle of the Sand Sea plain and its elevation is 7,641 ft above sea level. This volcano is part of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park.
It is in exact contrast to Mt. Fuji, as it doesn’t have white snow on the top or flora with colorful flowers. Instead, there are many other small volcanoes around Mt. Bromo.
The last time this volcano made people talk about it was in 2007 with its diffuse ash emissions.
Both of these volcanoes are extremely beautiful. If you like the majestic beauty of nature, visit Mt. Fuji. But if you prefer active volcanoes and the thrilling, sometimes even scary scenes they create, you will love Bromo volcano.
