Tunisia One Of The Best Destinations For 2008
The North African country of Tunisia has recently become a destination for many travelers. It’s hard to say what attracts them more, however. Is it the white sandy beaches, the age-old medinas, or the stylish boutique hotels, often built in historic town houses?
Whichever it is, while visiting Tunisia one can discover ancient cities, take part in lively festivals, enjoy the country’s natural beauty and warm friendliness of its people. For several thousands of years the country has witnessed the passages of Phoenicians, Romans, Vandals, Byzantines, Turks, Spanish and French. That’s why Tunisia presents itself as a unique combination of different cultures.
Shariah Finance Watch quotes a traveler who says Tunisia is a country tolerant of different religions.
“In Tunisia, synagogues and churches stand side by side with mosques. Jewish and Christian minorities freely practice their religious rituals. This tolerant climate is ensured by the constitution which provides for habeas corpus, guarantees freedom of conscience and protects freedom of religious practice. But this open atmosphere for religious practices has been challenged in recent years by the rise of radical Islam in the Arab-Muslim world.”
As always there are some travelers, who remain partly displeased with their travel. The Brook Ein Paris is one of them although it concludes Tunisia was still worth visiting.
“It was honestly a trip of highs and lows. You could experience something so cool, and then so terrible within minutes of one another. Anyway, it certainly hardened us for the trip. I’m glad we went though. I don’t regret it. It made us better travelers, and obviously, left me with a lot of stories to tell. Sorry about the novel. Honestly, Malta and Morocco were comparatively a lot less eventful, so you won’t have to read acres of writing.”
