How To Fly Safely While Pregnant

have a safe pregnancy air travel How To Fly Safely While PregnantIt used to be common to think of a pregnant woman as an ill person who needs restrictions in her actions. Being pregnant doesn’t mean being sick. Of course pregnancy attracts attention and demands some caution but it doesn’t restrict women from their normal ways of life.

Nevertheless, there are some activities that are thought to affect pregnancy, one of them being air travel. It’s very important to consider several points in pregnancy air travel to prevent complications.

First of all, a pregnant woman should travel only if the pregnancy is going smoothly without complications. This is the most important requirement for traveling while pregnant  to avoid further complications, miscarriage and preterm labor.

Then comes duration. It’s advisable to travel in the second trimester of pregnancy as it’s considered the safest period.

Make sure the booked ticket provides you with a seat comfy enough for you. Be careful while tightening your seat belt as doing it incorrectly may hurt the baby. You should fasten it somewhere under your tummy and above your hips. During the flight frequently change your position or walk around if you can at least every 10-15 minutes to eliminate the risk of getting deep vein thrombosis, which is high during pregnancy. Also drink a lot of water to prevent dehydration, particularly on long flights.

By considering the above-mentioned factors you’ll make your pregnancy air travel a safe and pleasant experience.
