Booming Luxury Tourism In Peru
Peru is a country located in Southern America which is well known for its ancient culture and rich colonial traditions.
Nowadays the country’s fast growing economy has meant that luxury tourism has started to be developed. Thus, more and more tourists chose Peru as a popular luxury tourism destination.
As the Seattle Times reports, there was a vast growth in number of tourists visiting the country from 2002 to 2007.
Tourist entries at Lima’s Jorge Chavez International Airport increased from 998,000 in 2002 to more than 1.8 million last year, according to Peru’s Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry, thanks in part to a publicity campaign launched two years ago.

According to Metropolitan Touring, luxury tourism is expected to grow for about 15 percent this year.
World wide the demand from high consumption tourists who do not care about the price they pay for traveling as long as they have certain standards of quality and service. Peru is very interesting for these tourists and competes with other countries in the region and the rest of the world.
Last year, investments in two or three star hotels were reduced by 20 percent, which reaffirms that the investments in the sector are being directed to luxury tourism, expected to grow more than 15 percent in 2008.
