If you like sailing or are looking for new adventures, Montenegro could be a perfect destination for you.

Situated in in Europe, the country which borders Serbia, Croatia, Albania, and Kosovo is often described as rugged with mountains, river valleys, and long coasts.

As Shoestring Travel reports, while sailing through the rivers and bays of Montranergro one can discover lots of interesting places such as Perast, home of the sailors, and the town’s Museum.

A yacht charter can travel all the way to the Gulf of Kotor, or Boka Kotorska Bay. It’s a fjord located in the southernmost portion of Europe. It has a very beautiful history as well as a very old civilization. Sailing through the bay, you can see several small coastal towns, such as Dobrota. Risan, meanwhile, has a lot of artifacts related to classical culture. For example, a patrician villa composed of mosaic floors is well-preserved and open to visitors. These inlets are nearvery close to Perast, home of the sailors. If you port here, you can take a tour to the Town Museum or Bujevic’s Palace.

Montenegro also offers the Velika Plaza, the longest beach found in the Adriatic Sea. At the town you can find lots of restaurants, bars, shopping booths, galleries, and hotels where you can stay for a day or two. That’s surely a good reason why sailing in Montenegro is popular.

It gives you an opportunity to enjoy the clear waters, picturesque mountains, and the small coastal towns that make up the country.
