Cedar Point: The World Capital Of Roller Coasters

Cedar Point The World Capital Of Roller Coasters Cedar Point: The World Capital Of Roller CoastersIf you are looking for fun and excitement, or the perfect place to visit with the whole family, then it might be time for you to visit the Cedar Point amusement park in Ohio. Situated on a small peninsula called Sandusky, the park is also known for breaking the record for the most roller coasters. Not only that, but the Top Thrill Dragster is not only the world’s second fastest ride, but also the tallest. According to Real Travel post this isn’t the only record set by the park.

The Blue Streak, named for the local Sandusky High School mascot, has given over fifty-four million rides since it opened in 1964. In 1976, the Corkscrew was the first coaster to turn riders completely upside-down three times. In 1989, the park unveiled the Magnum XL 200, a coaster that towered over the Sandusky landscape at 200 feet, only to be outdone in 2000 by the Millennium Force at 300 feet and again three years later by the Top Thrill Dragster, its apex at well over 400 feet straight up into the Ohio sky.

The Coaster Critic’s Blog quotes one person who took a ride on roller coaster in Cedar Point.

“The long, slow lift hill offered a great view of Lake Erie. The first drop is pretty strong considering it’s not that tall by today’s standards. There’s a slight turn at the crest of the next hill. After the second drop into the tunnel the train just becomes possessed and gave a pretty intense ride. The pretzel turn around is fun and the burst of speed when you leave it is pretty surprising.”

This summer the park plans to open a new Snoopy-themed children’s area called Planet Snoopy. Children will have the chance to ride on a miniature teacups, miniature trains and much more. According to the new plan, the park will also have new restaurants designed specially for kids with a special section for parents as well as different kinds of daily shows.
