Amsterdam is a city where you can never get bored. There are many interesting and fun museums there, with unusual and unique collections.
Some of them may not be very famous museums, but you’ll definitely love them if you are a fan of new and fresh ideas.
One of the most extraordinary museums in the city is VodkaMuseum Amsterdam. It’s the only vodka museum in Europe and has three stores “devoted” to this drink.
VodkaMuseum Amsterdam contains exhibits about the history of vodka in Russia and the rest of the world, its origin and vodka-drinking customs. The exhibits include different bottles, anti-alcoholism propaganda posters dating back to the Soviet Union times and so on. Some bottles are very simple and have traditional appearances, and others look like crowns of Russian tsars.
There’s also a multimedia lounge where you can watch a movie about history of Dutch vodka and its production.
And, of course, the most exciting part of visiting this museum is the the vodka shop, where you’ll find up to 200 different kinds of vodka coming from all over the world. There you can enjoy good-quality vodka with your friends or family and buy a beautiful bottle as a gift. The shop offers vodka with different tastes like chocolate, for instance. There are also cocktails that are made especially for the museum. The bar and the shop look like a nightclub with many colorful lights and comfortable hanging chairs.
At the end of your visit to VodkaMuseum Amsterdam, you’ll be given a special surprise gift. If you are with your kids, they will also get a present, although it will be a non-alcoholic one.
