Check Out The Museum Of Moving Image

museum of the moving image Check Out The Museum Of Moving ImageIf you are a big movie fan or a casual moviegoer, I think you’ll agree that there are scenes in the movies that stimulate your imagination.

Of course, everything is done with the help of new technologies, make-up and film sets, but you just wish you could see how those films are made with your own eyes and maybe try it yourself.

I’m more than sure that those who are very curious about movies and television, will love one of the most famous museums among movie fans–the Museum of the Moving Image, in Astoria, New York City.

This museum will give you some interesting and useful knowledge about film producing and promoting as well as about digital media. It also offers a “Behind the Screen” exhibition that will take you through the process of filmmaking and will demonstrate professional equipment. The exhibition was designed by AC Hocek Architects.

The Museum of the Moving Image possesses a movie and television-related collection of more than 130,000 objects, including costumes, fan magazines and design materials.

This museum is very unique, because not only does it display items from many famous movies, but also gives you a chance to learn how “moving images” are created. You also have the opportunity to create animations, choose sound and special effects and design your own cartoon. You can also create a flip book of yourself and have it printed for free.

If you’re not much of a museum-goer, you can be sure that this museum will not bore you. If you have kids, they are definitely going to have lots of fun. It will take only couple of hours or a little more (depending on the level of your curiosity) to get acquainted with movie production and get basic knowledge about it.
