The 3rd Annual World Health Tourism Congress has taken place in Marbella, Spain, on 4-6 April. The event organized within the scope of the Official Support and Patronage of the Costa del Sol Tourism Board attracted the participation of 350 people representing 42 countries.
The congress also touched upon the following topics: Medical Treatment, Sports Medicine, Wellness Treatment (Spas and Health Resorts), Cosmetic Treatment. About 71 Providers of Health Tourism Services, from Asia, the Middle East, South Africa, Europe and North & South America presented their articles and services.
More then 85 Services Procurement Organizations / Corporate Buyers were invited and according to Travel Daily News, the congress was a great success.
“Both the Buyers and Vendors later indicated that this intimate yet “open plan” arrangement had the desired effect.
The overall feeling and impression, amongst the attendees, was that the Congress had achieved its objective and gave promise of a larger and even more impressive and effective one next year in Manila.”
April seems to be rather active period for Health Tourism. Between 9th – 11th April in Munich, the 1st European Congress on Health Tourism 2008 was also held.
