Vacation In Antalya: Part 1
Summer is the time to treat yourself with luxury and a piece of heaven. You need the best vacation where you can lose yourself in the azure of the incredibly clear sky and the magnificent Mediterranean Sea. Add a five star hotel and you get the package of the ideal vacation.
You can find all this in the resort area Antalya which is located on the shores of Mediterranean Sea in southwestern Turkey. The area is full of hotels and people with wallets of different sizes can find just the right place.
First of all choose the district. The most popular districts are Belek, Side, Kemer, Alanya and Lara.
Belek is a very popular travel destination in Turkey and includes more than 30 luxurious hotels and services.
Apart from all the superb entertainment that the hotels offer, one of the tourists’ favorite places is the Kurşunlu Waterfall, an absolutely magnificent sample of natural beauty. There is also a hidden cave behind the waterfall, which you might also want to visit.
Belek has also many historical sites that date back to the Hellenistic era. Among those sites is the Aspendos Theater (5th century BC). This is one of the best preserved ancient theaters in the world and is now used for concerts, festivals and wrestling competitions.
Side is another gorgeous coastal resort area, where the modern architecture and entertainment, including various stores, night clubs and bars, join the ancient ruins of this city. This place is a great place for those who want the mix of old and new.
In addition to this, you should definitely visit the most romantic site, the Temple of Apollo. Visit this temple especially in the evening at sunset.
Kemer once used to be a quite rural place, but if you go there now, you’ll witness a very active tourism life.
This part is more popular for its spectacular nature and of course, just like the other regions, has a variety of hotels.
A lot of people go there for diving and nature walks. Göynük Canyon is a great place for walking.
You will find ruins in Alanya, too. The ancient citadel dates back to the 13th century AD. There are many sea caves and grottoes around the citadel. However, some of them can be reached only by boat. You can visit the rest, especially the “Cape of the Dripping Stones,” on foot. The cape’s moist and warm atmosphere is very good for those who have asthma.
You can also see some old houses and mosques in the town, and a lot of cafes, restaurants and bars at the beachfront. There are also pirate-themed sailing tours in Alanya that take you around its shores.
The last resort region on my list is Lara. The crystal clear waters of Lara made it very popular for tourists. This place earned the nickname “The Las Vegas in Turkey,” as most of the hotels in Lara have the names and the themes of the famous places in the world (like Venice and Kremlin).
These were the regions and coasts you can choose from. See the list of the best hotels of Antalya in my next post.
