The Dinosaur Ridge is the place where you, regardless of your profession, can explore and feel yourself as an archaeologist for a couple of hours. Your kids will absolutely love the place, especially if they are dinosaur-fans.

The Dinosaur Ridge, which is located in Morrison, Colorado, is the part of Morrison Fossil Area National Natural Landmark and one of the best places to travel to, where you can see remnants of dinosaurs.

The ridge was actually discovered accidentally by a scholar Arthur Lakes. He discovered dinosaur bones in this area in 1877.

It is thought that many thousands of years ago there was an inland sea that stretched from nowadays Colorado to Missouri and from Gulf of Mexico to Canada. The ridge was once a sandy beach, and the dinosaurs used to move from one place to another along that beach. Many centuries later, the sand hardened and hid the fossils of not only dinosaurs but also ancient plants and insects.
