Visit The Castleland Mallorca

Mallorca, also called Majorca, is actually the largest island of Spain. It’s considered to be one of the parts of Balearic Islands archipielago. Being situated in the Mediterranean Sea, Mallorca has sunny and pleasant weather nearly all year round. Though it may sometimes rain in autumn, still it’s a great time to go on sightseeing travel to Mallorca.
One of the most interesting places worth visiting is Bellver Castle. It was built in the 14th century and later used as a military prison. Bellver’s circular form makes it realy unique compared with other gothic period castles in Europe. The castle is situated of about 3 km from the capital city Palma, at 112 meters above sea level. It has the Palma History Museum and the Despuig Collection of Classical Sculpture in it and consists of three main towers around the courtyard. The famous, well-preserved Bellver Castle is one of the famous attractions of Mallorca.
Another famous place of Mallorca which is on top of the list of places to be visited is Palma Cathedral, otherwise known as “La Seo.” The first stone of the cathedral was laid in the 13th century where a mosque was once found. The Gothic cathedral was completed four centuries later. The main church is situated in the set of pillars and spires around it. The bell tower that isn’t finished yet is 52 meters high. The N’Eloi, which has 2-meter diameter and weights 5700 kg, is the most noteworthy of the nine bells in the bell tower.
