Louisiana Offering Tourists Culinary Trails

The Louisiana Office of Tourism has found a new way to attract tourists. From now on, the agency will be offering its customers a new resealed Louisiana Culinary Trails Guide Book.

As Chuck Morse, assistant secretary of tourism, for the state recently said.

“The whole trail approach concept is to look at the whole state, organize its assets and take it to the marketplace in an integrated way to entice folks to come and visit,”

The current program already includes at least two Lafayette restaurants, Charley G’s and the Creole Lunch House. What sounds more interesting is that the program includes both national and international cuisines. Financing for the venture has come from both public and private partners.

“The state put in $300,000 and $350,000 was raised from private partners.”

Meanwhile, the concept continues to develop and there are plans to visit other areas to present the idea.
