Food festivals are especially fun for food lovers because there’s always something new and very tasty to try. There are a lot of food festivals out there, such as mushroom, green apple, blueberry and chocolate festivals.

The purpose of the mushroom festival is to provide information about wild mushrooms growing in the Rocky mountains. The mushroom festival aims to expand people’s knowledge about edible, gourmet, medicinal and poisonous mushrooms. At the festival you’ll also find music and dance, pleasure rides, wine tasting and a scarecrow contest.

The mushroom festival offers a wonderful opportunity for visitors, including families, to have a great time, celebrate and explore all aspects of fungi.

Several US cities celebrate mushroom festivals on different dates year round. Pennsylvania celebrates it in September, Texas in October, and Michigan in May. The festival usually lasts from one to three days, sometimes even longer. Therefore, if you want to attend the event, you don’t have to wait long for it, as you can always find a place to enjoy gourmet mushrooms.

The Blueberry festival lasts four days. The blueberry festival’s main objective is to provide family activities at affordable costs. On festival day you’ll enjoy blueberry pies, blueberry ice cream and blueberry shakes. The blueberry festival provides vendors the opportunity to display their foods. Usually, US cities go “blueberry” during the summer months for a few days: Minnesota celebrates the blueberry festival in July, Kentucky celebrates it in June, and Maine in August.

Another fun festival is the Green Apple festival. Its mission is to increase environmental awareness for people of all ages. It also aims to encourage people to find ways for reducing environmental pollution and preserving nature.

The Green Apple festival is one of several Earth Day activities held during April and takes place simultaneously in eight cities: Washington, New York, Miami, Chicago, Denver, Dallas, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Another famous festival is the Chocolate festival, where you can see various things made from chocolate, like fountains, dolls and tasty chocolate cakes.

The goal of the chocolate festival is to encourage friendly relations between festival vendors, guests and the media. The festival also aims to promote small food businesses that work with chocolate. It is held in several places during the year: Australia in August, Virginia in February, and British Columbia in October.
