Varna: Sights To Visit

Varna Sights To Visit 300x198 Varna: Sights To VisitTraveling is a wonderful chance to get acquainted not only with various people, but also with different cultures and traditions.  A trip to the Bulgarian Black Sea resort town of Varna will help you discover an unknown world full of unique sights and places of interest. Any guest of this land is sure to find something close to his or her heart.

Varna’s vacation shores attract young people who are full of energy and life. The beauty of the Black Sea lasts year-round. The pleasant weather allows you to sunbathe from 10 to 11 hours per day. You can enjoy the gorgeous landscapes and mystical marine world even if you are on a tight budget.

As a well-known sea resort, Varna boasts a large  fish variety. And it is not by chance that the Bulgarians felt the need to construct a marine biological station in 1862. Then the place gradually extended.

The Varna Aquarium was opened much later, in 1932. Seahorses, mollusks, piranhas, actinides, crabs, periwinkles, conger eels and numerous species of fresh water fish welcome thousands of tourists “under their roof.” The division into three sections and the foyer make it easy for the visitor to examine and enjoy the diversity of these wonderful creatures from a very short distance.

Varna is also mostly visited by seaworld fans — The Varna Dolphinarium. It is the haunt of many locals, especially those with children, and the hot spot of tourists. The building itself is extraordinary — a light aerial construction that resembles a glass cube.

The Dolphinarium consists of a main pool and a smaller additional pool. In the big pool hall 1,200 visitors at a time can enjoy the dolphins’ acrobatic, music and balancing shows six days a week, except Mondays. Through the cafe’s windows people can also watch their training and witness how they are preparing to entertain the audience. The first residents of the Dolphinarium were Pipi, Popi, Reina and Split. They were caught from the Guatemalan waters during the very month the Dolphinarium was officially opened, in August 1984.

If you’ve always wanted to visit Bulgaria and explore its Black Sea coastline, be sure to spend some time in Varna. You won’t be disappointed.
