When you contact a hotel to book a room, inquire whether they have a service to pick you up at the airport. Also find out their check-in and check-out policy. This way you’ll be sure you have a place to spend the night.
Another tip is to pack as light as possible. Never take more things than you might need. If you pack too much your suitcase will be heavy and difficult to carry. Besides, you may need to pay an additional fee if it goes over the weight limit.
For convenience’s sake, try to make all purchases with your credit card, but if you want to have some cash with you in the local currency, don’t forget to exchange money in the airport upon your arrival.
Also find out the best places to go for sightseeing before you travel. Do a search online. Also make sure you find out the working days and entry fees for all the museums you plan on visiting. Don’t forget to check about discount ticket availability as well.
You might also need to pay special attention to the weather of your holiday destination. For instance you wouldn’t pack the same clothes for a wintertime trip to Moscow as you would for a journey to sunny and warm Faro in Portugal.
