Treasure Coast is the name of a region situated on the southeast coast of Florida, comprising the coastal counties of Indian River, St. Lucie, and Martin.
The name Treasure Coast has a historical background. During the days of the Spanish treasure fleets, especially those of 1715, many Spanish galleons were wrecked not far from the Treasure Coast.
