Modern Airports Offer Many Modern FacilitiesToday airline passengers can cover distances within a few hours. Just a century ago, it would have taken weeks of travel by boat or other means.

Nowadays more and more people are traveling. The airports are becoming increasingly overcrowded. Traffic and passenger numbers are both acceptable methods of determining the busiest airports. Some of the busiest airports in the world are Tokyo, Munich, Vienna, Beijing and Leonardo da Vinci airports.

Munich International Airport lies in the heart of Germany’s most popular tourist region. Nearly 25 million people travel through Munich’s airport every year. Munich airport provides more indoor and outdoor diversions than most airports do.

Munich airport is modern in design. The airport has expanded rapidly since it first opened. This was mainly because the German airline Lufthansa chose to centralize its operations in Munich. With the opening of a second terminal, it can handle 25 million passengers a year. The airport has a hotel, a shopping center and a visitor park on the airport grounds.

Another busy airport is Dubai International Airport. The airport operates flights from Dubai to America, Europe, Australia, and other destinations.

Dubai Airport is continuously developing and currently has two terminals. It accommodates 100 airlines, which connect to over 140 destinations.

There is duty-free shopping at the airport. There are about 25 restaurants, cafés and bars along the Departures concourse. Rooms for disabled passengers are available in the Dubai International Airport Hotel. There are also prayer rooms, a lounge for women, a children’s play area and a health club complete with a swimming pool, gym and massage facilities.

A far more busy airport is Leonardo da Vinci airport. It’s commonly known as Fiumicino Airport and it’s Italy’s largest airport.

Leonardo da Vinci Airport is located approximately 35km away from the center of Rome. The airport has four runways. There are several terminal buildings that handle both international and domestic flights. The airport has four terminals. Terminal A is for domestic flights, Terminal B is for flights inside the Schengen territory, and Terminal C as well as the Satellite Terminal are for all other international flights. A chapel, a prayer room and nurseries are also available in the airport.

Leonardo da Vinci Airport has undergone a sequence of improvements and expansions since the 1990s. The airport welcomes more than 60 millions visitors a year. The airport receives daily arrivals from various destinations across the globe.

There are several bars and restaurants at the airport. Duty-free and other shops, including fashion, jewelery, perfumes and traditional Italian products can also be visited.

There is an executive center in the above-mentioned airports providing meeting rooms, videoconferencing facilities, multilingual secretaries and translation or interpretation services.
