Airport Concierge

Airport ConciergeIt’s has become common that many airlines either charge extra fees for services, that were previously free, or just cut some of their services, to cut back expenses. However strange it may sound, Air New Zealand is doing just the opposite.

There is now already a new concierge service available during some of the airline’s flights, one of the routes included is London to Los Angeles.

The concierges will be providing a variety of services, including travel advice and assistance with onward bookings, to all Air New Zealand’s passengers, from first class to coach.

As was reported by breakingtravelnews.com, Scott Carr, Air New Zealand General Manager, UK and Europe, is sure that the new service will be a great distinguishing point for them over their competitors.

The concierge service is about adding a personal touch to the whole flight experience, from booking, to check-in, to arrival and beyond.

The concierges will take it upon themselves to make sure every customer’s journey is an enjoyable one before, during and after flight. Their main task will be to ensure everything about the trip is as smooth and hassle-free as possible. The concierges come from a great range of backgrounds including retail management, teaching and flying and each hopes to bring something unique to this newly created role.

According to GADLING, the following service will be implemented in flights from London to L.A. Their Auckland-based peers will work flights between L.A, and Auckland. Gradually, the service will be offered for the airline’s London to Hong Kong route as well.
